Most children begin preschool between 3 and 4 years old. Some programs accept 2-year-olds for “early preschool,” while others start at age 5 as a pre-kindergarten year. Joining group play—chatting, cooperating, or negotiating small squabbles—shows social growth. Comfort with classmates signals preschool-ready teamwork.
